What is HackAI

Student-run hackathon organized by the Artificial Intelligence Society at UTD, aiming to connect today's students with the knowledge and resources needed to build Artificial Intelligence related projects in the span of 24 hours.

Our Mission

We hope to demystify this specialized niche in computer science and bring it forward to students through an AI-related hackathon. We aim for our in-person event to provide both learning and competition opportunities and connect them to professionals who can further guide them in their AI journey.

HACK AI 2023

In 2023, HackAI’s fourth iteration featured various guest speakers, workshops, and activities.

Participants had the option of competing in four different tracks: athletes, brainiacs, saints, and creatives, each with their own tailored prompts.

HackAI ‘23 saw a record 600+ applications from students of various majors and featured sponsorships from Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Dallas Mavericks, Geico, and more!

What is hackathon?

A 24-hour tech event for teams of students to learn new skills, build cool tech projects, and meet tons of other students and tech professionals.

Do I need to have a team?

There is no strict requirement to have a team. However, even if a team is desired, you can work with a team of two to four people. We will also have team matching activities if you would like a team.

Who can attend?

You must be at least 18 years of age. Non-STEM majors, first-time hackers, and beginner coders are welcomed and encouraged to join us! This hackathon is meant to introduce AI to everyone. All you need is a drive and passion to learn!

What projects should I expect?

Topics such as Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and more will be represented amongst these projects, and we are confident that both the creativity and quality of the submissions will be incredibly high.
